Its 3-8 hours sleep for a longer life. Anything longer or shorter is rumoured to lower life length.

Perfectly doable, did that before with my first and in Nov i will have to again.
Each hour awake and then feed/change/give drink/comfort. [thumbup]

I'd struggle on 3. 6 seems enough.

It depends upon the situation and a combination of events. If you sleep more than 8 hours and don't do any extensive exercise, you're still bound to live less than somebody who sleeps 7 hours and runs 3 miles twice a week Sleep is only one variable put into the equation of longevity.

your first what?

When I was in college I managed 4-5 sleep and I always had to take a nap in the afternoon, I can't see how it's possible to manage 3 hours a day. Nowadays I need at least 7.

I get about 6 1/2 hours of sleep a night and I hate it, when I'm at work I'll be falling asleep.

When I was unemployed I EASILY slept 12-13 hours, every night, without fail.

Mm, at last this thread became interesting. I generally never beat over 10 hours a night unless I had some unfortunate situation that causes my day rhytm to go crazy.

I normally sleep 3-5h. And that really isn't enough... Maybe I'm getting old, but on just very very tired all the time. But I blame it on the stupid allergy pills!

Have to wake up at 4am every morning. And well can't ever seem to get to sleep before 23-24.

Athletes are recommended to aim for at least 10 hours sleep per day though for muscle recuperation. So I'd imagine more in certain cases is fine.
