Default Chrysler is now Italian!
So, did Chrysler move sideways or is Fiat actually a solid company over there in Europe that we can expect to transform the automaker?

Chrysler is now 52% Italian!

Their small cars, diesels and Multi-Air look promising, but I am not sure if this is just a sideways shift, or an actual upgrade for Chrysler. At least Fiat was nice enough to drastically improve the interiors.

Well Fiat own a controlling stake of Ferrari as well as Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, CNH Global (which is the second largest industrial and agricultural equipment manufacturer in the world). So yeah the company is pretty large..

ive seen some of their input, when they had a stake in ferrari as well, ( or they just shared parts) and quality wasnt that great. BUT fiat is pretty solid. i will admit. maybe they can do whatever the germans, and UAW and others could not. some ways quality has soffered. especially in tehir FWD cars, their RWD vehicles were decent . i had 3 fiats back in the day. when they exported to the US. i hear the 500 is coming here. would like to ee this one in person

its a HUGE upgrade in the management capabilities

FIAT once was in the same position as Chrysler quality and profitability wise, their current management was able to turn that around

If you bring the 500 to Hollywood or San Francisco, it will sell like hotcakes

Does that mean that Fiat also now owns Dodge?

Did you shut the door too hard or something? Robust is not a word that falls off the end of the tongue when thinking about Fiat.

I drove a Fiat Cinquecento once. What a piece of ****ing ****. It was as if had found some old bits of plastic and gone crazy with the glue gun. Amazingly they seemed to manage to completely bypass the design process as well.

This heap of crap is the culprit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Cinquecento

Being crash tested: http://robson.m3rlin.org/cars/wp-con...uroncap-f2.jpg

Honestly, I'd have felt safer in a washing machine.

How did they get it to go fast enough to do that to itself?

Pulled it on a rope lol.

I don't know if you know Croydon at all, but I had to drop down to first at one point there coming out of the Purley Way.

Yeah, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Mopar and I would assume GEM (Global Electric Motorcars) as well.

Well it's not like their car's are going to get any more unreliable. I thought this was going to happen almost 2 years ago. They were talking about wanting to get Fiat's into America too like the 500.

Fiat Cinquecento
There are two less of these in the world thanks to me. What a piece of ****ing ****. It is basically a go-kart with four mountain bike tires. Honestly, I'd have felt safer in a washing machine. I almost **** myself.
