Good race and a truly amazing drive by Webber even without KERS from lap 24. We might see the top teams all trying to qualifying on the hards in Turkey. haha
Red Bull clearly need to get on top of their strategies though.

I think before the race it was a very tough call to make. Even at the point of first stops, with Vettel within a coupe of seconds of the lead, you'd think 2 stop was the way forward. Ferrari did as well.

Well surely they knew how much time they would lose with older tyres on a two stop. 2 seconds a lap slower by the end of the race isn't exactly a little bit slower.

They should have seen what Ferrari were doing and done exactly the opposite.

But really the different tyre strategy the teams go with does make for some interesting battles.

They must have thought they could make the tyres last I suppose.

Is DRS allowed on this huge back straight then? There's going to be a lot of overtaking I'd think.

I'd guess it's on the main straight rather than back straight, but can't seem to find confirmation on either.

It's entirely possible, both will be allowed.

It's maybe not been decided yet. There's debate about it on another forum, people saying it should be between turns 10 and 11, which is way too short. Idiots, lol.

I just can't understand why not enable it for both. Just like it should've been in Malaysia.
Allowing it only for the main straight is just stupid.

Agreed, it should be allowed to be deployed anywhere on the track, just the once per lap, at the driver's/team's choice.
While the back (bottom) straight may make the most sense, some may prefer the start straight as an option.

It might have something to do with activation. I imagine that shortly before the designated straight, the gap between the cars it checked, and if below 1 second, it gets activated. If you allow use of DRS all over the place, it becomes more tricky to monitor the gap. Maybe.

That would require more timing points but I do agree they should be allowed to use it on any straight. It's unlikely drivers will use it in bends since that's where they need the downforce
and we saw in Aus what happens if you use DRS when in a bend and someone spun pretty easily.
