Don't fault him, he's an apple fan boy. So it's their natural territory. That and we've seen their income, so they are a rich entitled *******.

I lied about my income, to make it more believable.

Lion share (I wonder what's the figure) of the computation power comes from GPU's...

Primal sexual drive = gpus

All the gpus are like beer googles http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif

You mean like it says in the article?

Quote:

One surprising result of the research is the amount of total horsepower found in the application-specific space, where the authors considered only DSPs, microcontrollers, and GPUs (GPUs alone account for 97 percent of this category's capacity). And that capacity is huge, about 30 times that of all the general purpose computation hardware. GPUs account for the lion's share of the 6.4 x 1018 operations a second that the planet can now perform, and they showed a compound annual growth rate of 86 percent over the study period.
Can't you read?

Yes I read it. The article says that where they considered only DSP, microcontrollers and gpus (and from this group the gpu is responsible of 97%) blaablaablaa.

Edit: oh wait. That group is 30 times "faster" than CPUs... Meh.. Sometimes not being a native english speaker/reader causes you to miss somethings. Jumping ahead too fast...

What, you mean the time of the month when I get irritated by people who comment on articles they didn't read? Possibly.

Sounds like you're cranky. Maybe you're having trouble coping with short days. Whatever the case, I hope this cheers you up:

So what happens when one CPU power = one human brain?

Skynet.

It will end badly. I saw it in a film.

Not sure how they linked storage capacity to our genome size. As far as I know these two have no connection, and our genome size doesn't necessarily have a "capacity" on how many base pairs it can hold. Interesting nonetheless.

An interesting but ultimately dubious comparison. A nerve impluse cannot be compared in any reasonable way to a computer instruction (currently at least).
