What kind of "sexual harassment" ends with someone getting 5 years in jail?

Apparently the guy has been found guilty, I haven't asked for how long. However sexual harassment/sexist comments towards women/sexual assault is a very serious thing in Australia. When I was doing my security course a women was telling everyone how she sued a guy for $250,000 just because he made a sexist comment about her in a bar.

She now owns her own house.

With the heritage and history of Australia, I expect they're the experts on jails/gaols, however they spell them

Doing doughnuts in the middle of the highway, and rolling the car on a football field isn't exactly smart...Fun, but not smart.

Sexual assault and sexual harassment are two completely different things. Sexual harassment to me is making unwanted sexual comments towards someone else. I don't see how that warrants jail time.

Since the two of them came out of cool room together laughing, there is no evidence she was harassed or assaulted sexually. Other wise she would be running out of cool room screaming or walking out quickly with out him.

Regardless, the dude set him self up for it and made him self an easy target.

I don't thing the guys wife told your gf the entire story. If a man does something wrong even if it's something bad by anyone's morals, for some odd reason you will find that their partners stick up for them. To avoid embarrassment or whatever it is. Like I've heard cases where a wife knew their partners were a paedo and yet just let it go or defended the guy. This is the extreme end of things, so something like sexual harassment probably something they will defend.

Do we know what exactly what sort of sexual harassment? Just verbal? Was it more a sexual assault? If the guy is staring down the barrel for 5 years for verbal sexual harassment then WTF. Women over react to heaps of things and they just don't think about what they are about to do to someone else to 'get even'. It's like that woman recently in Australia that wanted like $150 million because her rich boss kissed her. Like get out of town, it's a kiss and slight touching FFS.

So I've played both sides of the coin. Either we don't know the full truth, or this girl wants to screw him over bad.

Apparently he went in the cool room where he started talking to her, kinda like flirting and possibly making dirty comments/jokes. He then proceeded to kiss her on the lips and touch her butt.

In my pops case, they accused my pop of pedophilia and rape. We originally thought it was due to revenge because my mother told the guys wife the guy tried to have sex with her and numerous other women (including my mums friend).

But we couldn't figure out why he would use his daughter for such a serious case. We later found out that it wasn't only just for revenge but apparently they are in huge dept and wanted to use the money if they won to pay some of it off.

TBH we can't prove that and maybe they would use the money for something else, but the guy and my pop used to be best friends and my pop knew he was in dept.

So I've played both sides of the coin. Either we don't know the full truth, or this girl wants to screw him over bad.

It's why I'm not judging neither atm.

He hasn't been put in front of a jury yet so his prison time will probably only be a couple weeks or months and then the jury will decide whether he's guilty or not. He also apparently has a VERY crappy lawyer.
