Default The latest gizmo from the creator of the C5

Sir Clive Sinclair’s first stab at cheap, clean personal transport, the Sinclair C5 which was released 25 years ago, was so far ahead of its time that it was met with ridicule and proved a huge commercial flop .

However, the British inventor of the ZX80, ZX81 and ZX Spectrum computers is back with a new electric vehicle concept, the new Sinclair X-1.
Like its predecessor, it’s powered by a mix of battery and human elbow grease, with its lightweight rechargeable 24v Lithium Polymer battery pack claiming to serve up to 10 miles travel for just 10-pence-worth of electricity. http://www.wirefresh.com/the-sinclai...ck-as-the-x-1/

I'm not sure what happens when you have to stop, I guess you have to put your leg out?

I presume you mean the issue of it toppling over rather than actually decreasing speed?

Sinclair didn't really invent any of those computers: they were designed and created by others in Sinclair Research. The man himself can only be credited with the inventing the concepts of each machine, in terms of product functionality, price and market scope; for Wirefresh to suggest otherwise is akin to claiming that Henry Ford invented the model T himself.

Sadly, the blame for the invention of the C5 can certainly be laid at his feet

Segway still holds that crown. Rent-a-cops on segways. Every time I've ever seen it I just want to walk up and ask him if he'd like one of my balls so that he can at least have 1.

Front and rear disc brakes provide 100% stopping power I wonder what 100% stopping power means... When you brake it stops immediatly?

I guess it could work at Oxford or the Netherlands where bike transportation is safe.

It means it's the only brakes, so it has 100% of the responsibility. Seems odd to mention it as a feature though, but I guess people may wonder how it stops.

I'd rather ride a bike though.

I meant what stops you from falling over after you've stopped....which I already explained.
