I don't know the fines maybe be higher but points stay on your license for a much shorter time. I think you guys across the pond worry more about tickets/points. Here you can simply lawyer up, and then put off, and put off going to court... maybe move the case to another jurisdiction in the county, when the case does finally go to court, the cop who pulled you over doesn't show and it is dismissed. And that is your option when the plethora of other, court approved options to make the ticket disappear have already been exhausted. (pretty much you can get a ticket every six months and never have it go on your record with court approved adjudication(do not get another ticket for 6 mos and take defensive driving)) Basically, as long as you are 20 or less over the speed limit, it is just a slap on the wrist that won't go on your record unless you just don't care about money and out of laziness pay the ticket.
