Bring it back!! I've already seen at least two people whose sigs now look like part of their posts. It will be even worse when people start doing it deliberately, like before, which is why the line was put there in the first place!
+1

Put it back please. Having it not there just makes things very confusing and as said people will do it on purpose.

I think you're both underestimating the standards that the members of this community have.

NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

But in all seriousness, can't the line be at least 600px wide?

IMHO, the less intrusive, although still visible, the better.

Did you guys forget why it was put there in the first place?
which is why the line was put there in the first place!
It came about because it was the standard setting in vB, and instead of looking for the option to remove it when we implemented vB (its in the programming code itself), other more important things were done instead.

CSS:

element.visibility: hidden;
element.display: none;

It looked cleaner without the line, but as others said it looked too confusing. Why not have the line across the centre of the page though? It would look tidier whilst still dividing the posts and sigs.

I don't mind the line, looks fine. Guess I'm just used to it.

Because we read from left to right, it's easier to identify as that's where our eyes tend to gravitate as we're reading through a post and subsequently looking for a new paragraph.

Just make the seperator line white. That way it doesnt mess up image sigs, but with a quick marking you can seperate the sig from the post, if the sig is text only.

If you made it white you wouodn't able to see it, so it wouldn't serve its purpose! I certainly don't want to have to highlight every single post just so I can which bit is the post and which the sig.

So you'd be happy if you had to highlight every post to see where the post ends and the sig begins? I doubt it.

Just make your signature read: "Bungle is a dunce". It is probably relevant with every post anyway.

I'd quite like it if it were to flash on and off and color cycle too.
