I have to agree, the idea of setting this up in a more "real-world" scenario, where *regular* humans are involved is kind of intriguing!
I did like the first MK movie, even if it was bad, the idea of seeing all my favorite childhood characters was a cool thing. I will def be seeing this.
I didn't read any of the site, did it say when this is coming out?
