Default DNS settings help
afternoon all - quick question thats probably very obvious but i cant seem to find a straightforward answer...

trying to set up the DNS for a site and dont know what sort of 'format' the settings need to be in and what settings are actually needed (the customer isnt using an email account with the hosting). I *think* i need an A record and a CNAME record? When making an A name do i need the whole address i.e. www.example.com along with the IP address of the hosting server? With the CNAME record it is asking for a hosting provider? not sure what that means... address of the DNS server?

any help would be much appreciated
Ta all

You're going to run the DNS for the site? Usually the host will do the DNS as well.

It looks like webfusion doesn't have any A records listed. Can you manage the DNS manually or do they need to do it?

Should be something like this under the answer section:

lobhillbedandbreakfast-devon.com A IP Address

CNAME is used for subdomains so unless you have a subdomain you shouldn't need to worry about that.
