Ive always gone for lcd never owned a plasma tv but you can get them alot cheaper, is it better to stick to lcd or plasma ok? Also LG or Samsung?

Go with plasma if you're a fan of having unmatched picture quality at a price lower than a comparably-sized LCD.

Try and get a demo of plasma first, especially if you are playing games on it.

I can't recommend Samsung's plasma though, they have good black levels but the panels seems to age very quickly, on high contrast stuff I was getting horizontal bands (like a knackered CRT) across the screen, it wasn't just mine either as when looking on Comet/Currys/PC World or whatever I can see the same problem on all thier displays after a few weeks.

Posterization is a problem on the Samsungs too, kinda like a bad .gif in darker scenes.
