Back when I was 16, for my sins, I worked in a little branch of a supermarket that had about 30 staff on rota, almost all part time, and only about 8-10 staff in at any one time.

Our manager was one of the few full time members of staff but had some form of swindle going on where he was only in about 3 days a week. All of us working there were friends and we still meet up regularly 5 or 6 years after we all quit (well, 10 of us that made up 75% of the hours worked there, right before xmas actually )

From managing to look like we gave a **** about what we were doing, it eventually got to the stage where quite often, my best mate, his sister and myself were pretty much running the whole shop, opening it in the morning, closing in the evening, stock ordering, stuff like that.... and of course we abused it.

One of the main memorable times was coming in late with said friend, very very hungover and proceeded to spend about 3 hours standing at the back of the walk in freezer eating all the ice-cream... it always tastes better when your being paid for it.

Or whenever it was somebodies birthday, we would take a bottle of vodka off the shelf and leave it out the back... any time you had to go out to the warehouse for something you had to take a shot, lead to much fun for the people doing an 8 hour shift.

Plus the usual things like just taking lunch without paying for it.... luckily it was only a couple of us that did that but eventually when the higher-ups ordered a full shop stock-take, about a year after the last, there was a discrepancy of nearly £3000 from food that had either been broken, eaten or stolen.......

I actually miss being there sometimes [thumbup]

When I used to work at Moe's Southwest Grill (kind of like a Burrito Subway), me at the time being a manager, a long with the AGM and the rest of our co-workers, we used to get drunk all the time in back during our 6hr shifts. Than when the place closed, sometimes friends or other co-workers who were off would come to get drunk with us. [thumbup]

Did that for maybe 4 months before I quit.

When I used to work at a local college, when I was going to school I only worked at the college for 2hrs a day. It was trash duty. It was awesome though because we got golf karts. We would race the guys on lawn mowers, go off-roading in the back hills which had trails and would do donuts in the ball fields.
There was also this one steep hill, that had a speed bump at the bottom. You put the golf kart in N and away you go. Could get some pretty good air when you hit that speed bump.

I had a short stint at Burger King one summer for three months, we often had LAN parties on the weekends, and so me and my pals would go to burger king, and i had a deal with the manager that whatever i make, i can just take. usually consisted of 6 whopper value meals, a mess of mozzarella sticks and a few BK Big fish and we were set. The manager was pretty laid back, the only thing i ever did for him was use a credit card on the door to the office for him because he locked the keys in and didnt want to call another manager to come open it for him, lol.

I think his ass would have been on the line more than mine for the free food, but who knows

One place i worked at i stole a load of company headed paper which the company used to write staff notices etc on. I basically made my own obscene/rude notices up and posted them on the bullletin board. i found it amusing. company did not.

Whenever I am working a little overtime and I have take a cab home (company policy that if you work overtime they cover a cab fare home) I book a hire-car (similar to a chauffeur service) instead. Always have, always will. In fact, I have done it so often that I have my regular "driver" on speed dial. [thumbup]

It actually all started when I would work regular overtime which meant missing my episodes of Stargate SG-1. So I got a car with a TV and fridge in the back so I could watch my Stargate in style... PROBLEM SOLVED! [rofl]

When I worked at Zellers (like a Canadian Walmart) I would just believe what ever the customer said about items being on sale because I couldn't be assed to look it up. The shirt is 25% off? You bet! The system was shitty and sales had to be mostly done manually, hence the abuse. [thumbdown] I would often close down my lane and go enjoy some quiet time on the throne in the employee's washroom. That was harder to get away with.

When I was in High school, I worked for Captn D's.

Almost every night, right after all the customers left and before we started the official end of night cleaning, we went out into the lobby and rolled one up. Made the night got much better.

Fun times.

My first job was as a hotel porter and I had a pager on me at all times. If I was tired I'd go into the hotel loft and sleep on the cosy insullation and my pager would act as my alarm clock
