Default Apple users I need your help with a wireless connection.
Here is the run down. I tried switching over my Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7234-4 v3 from WEP to WPA2 and this worked fine for all the PCs in the house plus one of my roommates MacBook. My other roommate has an identical MacBook as the other but for some reason his won't connect with the WPA2 key, only the WEP encryption seems to work. I've also tried WPA to no avail. So now I'm forced to continue using WEP at least until finals are over with. Do you guys have any idea what the issue might be? I figured it might be my roommates Airport card but I really don't know Macs at all. I searched all over google and tried various fixes none of which have worked. I am also aware that it could be a router issue since Belkins are a piece of junk compared to Lynksys but I do what I can with my money. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

It's because he bought a Mac.

Honestly though, it shouldn't matter unless he is entering in the key wrong or has an older card which for some reason it doesn't support WPA2.

The key is right and the card can't be that old as the same computer owned by my other roommate is running perfectly fine.

Do you have a particularly long or strange key? I don't know the reason why, but all the Macs at work struggle with keys like "thisisthedayofthetentacle". Try setting your key to 12345678 and testing it.

Interesting, the key I was using was a tad long so when i get back from the library I'll give it a go. Thanks.

Let me know how you get on. I'm trying to work out why so that I have at least half a reason when people ask me.
