Some of you may remember the mask I made a couple years ago. If you don't, here is the thread talking about it:

Anyways, I went to a Halloween party last Saturday. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it since I had a hot, 2nd date, that night. She was a little unsure about going to a Halloween party in the middle of no-where around a bunch of people she didn't know. So, I didn't bring it up more than once. After we had dinner and saw Zombieland (awesome movie, check for my Zombieland thread), I took her home early enough for me to zip on over the the party. I didn't have time to change into a full fledged costume, so I just brought the mask.

Well, I only knew one person at that party and it was my brother. When I got there, it was a big shin-dig with lots of people. The only thing was, most all of them knew each other. I came walking up in the mask and I was amazed at the strange reaction I was getting. People were very unsure. People were asking what is it, and who are you.

Now, with the boots I was wearing, I was easily about 6 foot, 6 inches tall in this get-up. Even my brother commented that he didn't know what to think of it. For the rest of the night, I was getting strange comments from people like, you are trouble, or you are in trouble and people always looking over their shoulder at me. I mean, it's a Halloween party. Why were they so freaked out? It's a costume... everyone was in one... mine was by far, the freaky-ish, though.

Anyways, I was a little freaked out about how much everyone was so freaked out.

So I figure, I can't yap about all this without posting a couple pictures. I imagine it is much creepier, outside, in the dark and with black makeup around my eyes.

No guns at the party. That's why you euro guys can't have them. You don't know when you should bring a gun and when not to.

Seriously though Golem, did you ever make one? I thought you were going to try to make a mask. I want to make another, but with a different paint/coloration.

I think people freak out when they cannot identify something. Nobody knew what the heck this mask was, They need aliens, or devils or monsters to understand.

I told one guy it was a Venetian Bauta mask, and he got pissed off and said WTF is a VABA? It's the long story of art. The artist makes his art, but nobody understands. To make money, the artist has to make stuff the simple minded can comprehend.
Just my quick artistic, psycho-analysis of the masses.

Yeah it is. I posted the link in the opening post. It looks like imageshack deleted one of the pictures, but it was just the primer gray one. I'd fix it, but that pic was lost with a dead hard drive.
