Default are you brave or are you a coward ?
what do you see your self as ?

please, don't play the e-persona card.

be honest.

I'd say I'm neither, Ive been very scared at times but Ive pushed on through, but equally I dont go looking for bravery awards...

I really like that question, I think it's very interesting. I've always thought of myself as not a brave person at all, but there have been several occasions where I did (or do) things other people consider brave... Just like you, perhaps. Afterall, you're in the army, I'm assuming that's pretty brave, right?

I don't feel brave, but sometimes people do consider me brave. So I guess that, sometimes, I am.

I can also be a cowardly wimp though, I bruise easily. [rofl]

I have to say a coward as I tend to evade a problem or situation than facing it altough not forever and always of course..

not saying coward, but to say your NEVER afraid is only to lie to yourself and everyone else..
Being brave isn't not being afraid, it's being afraid but doing what needs to be done anyway.

I would have to say brave.

I do things that other people would chicken out of. Like going skydiving for the first time. Or swimming through thousands of jellyfish during a scuba dive (did that one less then a week ago).

Coward in the sense I am scared of doing simple things like asking a hot chick out or going to the dentist / doctor. But In a crisis or danger I am not the type to run unless absolutely necessary.

Coward. I hate confrontation. I'd rather avoid it if possible.

Being brave can mean alot of things and imo can´t be generalized that easily, for one i´m afraid of needles (phobia i got after 3 months in the hospital)
but then again i have no problem with alot of stuff that makes other people feel scared or uncomfortable.
I´d say i consider myself intelligent enough calculate risks and choose what´s the smarter thing to do.

More coward than brave, but perhaps I will surprise myself once something occurs in my life that makes me have to handle things quickly about life/death..

Lets hope I never have to.

Being brave isn't the absence of fear, it's doing the right thing in the presence of it.

Been in a few life or death situations involving others, and both times I went at it without hesitation, once went into a burning house only to quickly realize my neighbor and her kids were already out of the house. another time I tried to get a guy out of a car that was on fire but he was pinned between the seat and the steering wheel, busted the window and ran back and forth from a pool to him with 5 gallon bucket of water with another guy until the fire eventually got out of control and there was nothing we could do. still bothers me that there was nothing I could do to help the guy. watching someone burn alive is nothing i suggest people do in their lifetime

at the same time i am scared of spiders and extreme heights. I rock climb, but above 100ft or so I get unsure of myself and the rope holding me up.

In my mind, I lean towards the brave and I try to exhibit that in front of friends.

Fear is one thing, but a coward is pathetic... I probably exhibit some of those qualities too.

The truth is, I have, fortunately, never been in a situation that would totally prove whether I am one or the other.
I think the Mighty Mighty Bosstones said it best: video= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZOyQT4aVz4

"Im not a coward,
Ive just never been tested
Id like to think that if I was,
I would pass"

[edit] This thread is really only discussing our emotional psyche and how we feel about ourselves... for the most part.

Well whats brave?? Running into a burning building to save someone or climbing up a tree to get a cat? Am I brave to wanna fight someone at a bar whos called me out? Or am I a coward for say NAH DUDE, I dont wanna fight.

In my personal experience Ive lived what I consider a brave moment, I saw a guy beating his gf up while she begged for help and I stepped in and gave him 13 stitches on his right eye and saving her from getting beat.

And again as far as my personal experience goes with being a coward, Id have to say it was because I was at a club and a guy I went to HS with wanted to fight and I backed out of it because 1. I knew hed kick my ass and 2. I had no reason to fight him.

Between those 2 scenarios Id have to say Im brave because I did the right thing.
