Just back about 4 hours ago from a two week vacation (no Net access or Canadian news sources just about killed me).
Anyway, I booked this vacation a year ago. My last day of work was Friday, July 24 and I was scheduled to return tomorrow but I'm going to make it Tuesday instead, just because I need a day to recover and sort my life. So I checked my work e-mails this evening and I see my counter-part gave her notice the day after I left, and my position was posted on Craigslist on Monday, July 27; my first official day of vacation. It's a bit of a story, but the position posted July 27 was to be the position I agreed to assume effective August 1, even though I wasn't scheduled to return until August 10. So she's leaving and the posted position is the position they verbally agreed to give me upon my return. Uncharacteristically, I have nothing in writing on this one. I am confused. |

Could it be that there is a policy of advertising ALL positions, even if there is already a suitable candidate who will be getting the position?
Seems a bit sus', though, that it was posted when you had started your holiday and may not be expected to know about it. Is this the same place you've been having all the hassle over the last few years? |
