I tell you what. I'm not going to watch an hour and thirty minute documentary just because you tell me to. Answer this question first so I can decide whether it's worth watching or not, have they found Nostradamus' cipher so they can make any sense of the quatrains or is it another when he says this he could mean this?

In Golem's defense, it IS a History Channel program and very well made, so it's not as if he's posting a random YouTube video. While I wouldn't bet the farm that 2012 is going to be some sort of catastrophe, there is certainly some thought provoking stuff in the documentary. Also, I've noticed that as of late, people seem to be picking on each other and derailing these sorts of threads more than ever, so while his wording might have had a commanding tone to it I don't think he meant it like it sounded.

Hate to say it, but I agree with the chap - the title is quite simply a directive to watch the documentary.
I would suggest inserting "please" at the start of the thread title - it would make all the difference in the tone and may eveh get more people looking at it.
I haven't yet as it will take a fair bit of time - maybe later.

I accept that I may have misinterpreted your title but generally a turn of phrase like "Do x, then talk to me" is confrontational. Like, "Try raising three kids by yourself, then talk to me.", or, "You serve your country for 6 years, then talk to me" it suggests that unless you do x first you aren't qualified enough to talk to this person.

It's not that I wasn't willing to watch the documentary and it's obvious that I have a clue about the topic seeing as I have a photo of Terrence McKenna in my signature! I have been interested in Nostradamus since when as a kid I stumbled across a book my dad had but some things I don't want to waste my time with. I've seen enough interpretations and a lot of approaches to his writings are as valuable as the Horoscope page in The Sun is to esoteric astrology.

So I'm sorry but for me what I asked seemed pertinent. I didn't realize that asking a clarifying question about a topic had become so controversial around here that it warranted someone suggesting you leave the forums but not to worry rest assured I won't be asking you and especially not QuadDamage any questions in the future.

If you haven't don't hop into the thread and say "yeah, I haven't played Aion, but it totally sucks and it's retarded". That just makes you look like a troll, and a douche. If you're not interested in watching a video and discussing it.. don't click the "watch this and then talk to me" thread. I don't really see how that's such a hard concept to grasp.


TBH, the video was decent. It didn't come across like regular conspiracy theory propaganda video. I think a little more research an opposition could have been done, but meh, that would make it long, unbearable, and it wouldn't support any viewpoint. At least they did try to make some sense and maintain coherence.
