The one thing that keeps me from getting an iPhone is iTunes.

If a company made an Android phone together with iAudio where the audio quality is great and it works as a USB stick I'd buy it.

You forgot to mention the faster CPU and new GPU w/ OpenGL 2.0 support and also twice the RAM. Plus with the 32GB of storage how can you not be impressed? OS 3.0 has a lot of new features too I watched some of the demos of WWDC and they were sweet. Opening up the USB port/Bluetooth for 3rd party devices is awesome. We can now finally get keyboards, game controllers, more accuarte external GPS(or a GPS for iphone 2g), external sensors like shown at WWDC, Nike+ support, and better car /stereo controllers, etc. On top of that all for the same price as the 16GB 3G costed a week ago. Plus the autofocus camera is implemented better than any other phone that I know of. What would you have added to the hardware spec to be so impressed? A higher mp camera, probably an OLED screen and what else?
Sounds oh so impressive- lets see if it can send a MMS text this time?[rolleyes]

It's funny how you had the exact same experience as I did, except the complete opposite. Personally, I find WinMo to be the worst mobile browser ever created. It's incredibly inefficient, crashes constantly, requires registry edits (awful), and adding too much software to it virtually makes the operating system unworkable. Some people are saying iphone games suck yet I've played a few that rival PSP games (with some being as cheap as $.99).
I admit winmo is not perfect. full of faults. But it is just like windows... I can use it on a large number of phones, I can create my own image of it that contains what ever programs, UI, and themes I wish. I can download from internet explorer, and if I have problem with an image I can actually solve it my self most of the time. That alone is priceless and that alone is the reason why i dislike the iPhone so much. I can't do anything to it. That is why I consider it an entertainment device (iPod) and not a smart phone. Smart phone should allow you to do anything you wish.

I never think ram is a waste. The iPhone OS crashes apps all the time because it needs more ram. The CPU is also a newer version of arm11 or cortex which adds multimedia features which the iphone2g/3g/touch couldn't touch. With the improved GPU/CPU/RAM combo we will be seeing apps that just run on the 3G-Speed (epecially with the newer OpenGL support). With iPhone now having 50,000 apps I think that is plenty of apps and is growing faster than any other smartphone library. Plus I knew you were just a N97 fanboy that's why you keep dissing the iphone. The Nokia's N97 OS is getting long in the tooth and far from a dream phone and reminds me a lot of the Tilt or Sony's new Xperia. It will remain just a boutique phone that is way too expensive. $700 phone vs $299 or even very comparable to the 3G $99.
I would hardly call myself a fanboy lol. I change my phones very often, in the 8 months I have had 3 different phones and 3 different operating systems. First I had an N95, it was great but terrible battery and not enough memory. Then I got a windows mobile Omnia, which was horrible. It had a fantastic camera, but it was so damn fiddly to use. I finally lost patience after I tried to send a mms at a nightclub and could not get the buttons pushed right lol. Then I got a 5800Xpress which is good, but crap camera in the dark and I am stuck with shitty t-mobile on a rolling contract with their horrendous signal, the browser is forever timing out.

Also did I mention I have a iPod Touch which is essentially a faster version of the 3G, but of course without the phone? It is an awesome media player, but lack of multi-task makes it a useless phone. One thing you get with Nokia is connectivity and excellent firmware support. My N95 was a totally different phone to when it was originally released.

Over 80% of the apps are garbage... .
Well, that gives you about 10 000 good apps. Not bad.

Over 80% of the apps are garbage... and you have to pay. My WinMo phone has far more useful apps for free. I'm buying and HTC Magic too once I find one locally. Android/WinMo > OS 3.0
plain and simple the iPhone is and iPod touch with a phone. they should stop calling it a "smart phone".
I sold my iPhone 3g to a co-worker who hated as much as I did. He ended up selling it too. Worst phone ever. Jailbreaking it was the best thing I ever did to that phone.

I got mine last Tuesday when Rogers launched them up here. [thumbup] Excellent phone. The Android OS is very slick.

As for this iPhone, they are just adding everything they should have had from the get go. Nice if you don't already have a 3G, but I wouldn't pay to upgrade when 3.0 will have most of what I would want.
