My Customer's description of his pc

Once a while my friends and family's friends or relatives, ask me to build their pc.

As typically those customers of mine are pc-illiterated... very... limited knowledge... no offense http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

Anyways, most recent customer ask me to build a whole new rig for him (his father), as he said his pc was too slow/lag using photoshop, and he did say his current pc its 5+ years old.

So as usual, i asked his pc specification of his current rig.. and guess what he replied me...

He replied me exactly as below :-
"Height of CPU is 19 inches, width of 9.5 inches. Measurement of my dad's current CPU is 16.5 inches, width of 7 inches."

Can i facepalm now?.. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif

I gotta say.. thats the first time in my life that i have that kind of description (or shld i say.. the most "detailed" description..lol http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/unsure1.gif) of pc ever.. well to me.. and i thought the worse i gotten so far i heard customer got problem loading his windows, so she brings just only her monitor to me [rolleyes]

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif That is funny. When I worked in IT, a staggering amount of people referred to the computer itself (case) as the CPU. They also liked to call backgrounds or wallpaper their "screen saver".

I love it when people call it their "hard drive".

"The CPU itself is an internal component of the computer. Modern CPUs are small and square and contain multiple metallic connectors or pins on the underside. The CPU is inserted directly into a CPU socket, pin side down, on the motherboard."

YUP I understand that but you could equally say that because everything is located in the base unit its known as a central processing unit

i also regularly hear people refer to the case as the modem, the PSU, the hard drive, the unit and the box. the last two i actually accept without correcting them.
