You could try what MonkeyPuncher suggested, by renaming the file to .mpg.

Tried it, doesn't work. The file still plays, but still stutters to bad to try watching.

Whatever the problem is, Media Player Classic plays the MP2 just fine... but it won't upload to youtube.
