The serie turned out to be some bullshit crap just like Heroes so I hope this make it better, the only thing Im very pleased so far is that Connor is played by Christan Bale.
Bale did not only multiply your hopes for Terminator Salvation, he can't choose something that sucks

Eh wouldn't that make him a cyborg which is what a terminator is
Cyborg? Nah (some) terminators are machines with organic skin.
Which I guess
brings us to the point of what the word cyborg is which Webster (badly) labels as "a bionic human".
edit:

also on that interview thing they said he refused the part until they made the script better [rofl]

Yes Cyborg. They call the Terminator a cyborg in the first move. He has organic living tissue wrapped around a metal skeleton.

I also agree with people that say the TV show blows. I find it to be horrible and I think the comparison to dawsons creek is pretty accurate. The new movie looks awsome.

apparently the character name is Marcus Wright

here is what we know about him

*he is a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row.
*Conner doesn't know whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past
*Connor and Marcus set out on a mission that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they find out a terrifying secret that may mean the end of humankind.

im gonna go out on a limb and guess that there is gonna be a big plot twist

i think that this Marcus Wright will be physically every bit human however his personal essence is artificially created. basically a human body, brain and all but with artificially programed intelligence. i also don't think he knows what he is at first ether, like his memory has been altered which would explain why he doesn't know whats going on. i think that he also could be sent from the future where technology has progressed to that point. think about it though is seems that the robots have always wanted to get closer to being human and i don't think its just to be more efficient killing machines ether. if they wanted to kill us off im sure the human form isn't the most efficient way of doing that. the tv series has shed a bit of light on this (wanting to be more human like) if you pay attention to the details.

should be interesting to see what really happens

Umm, wouldn't that make it an android not a cyborg? I thought cyborgs where humans (with human brain) who have robotic parts. And androids are robots with human parts/looks..

I think it will be difficult to pass T2:Judgement Day.. IMHO it was the best in the series till now.The special dvd edition with the deleted scenes is superb!!

I hope that Salvation is atleast better than Rise of the Machines.

It isn't so difficult, what could happen is the same as with Alien and Aliens, Salvation becoming the Aliens of the Terminator series.

Isn't a cyborg any creature that has both organic and electronic parts? Therefore a Terminator would qualify.

The trouble with the terminator is that the organic parts seem to be non-essential to the functioning of the terminator. We have even seen the "human suit" removed with no impairment to the underlying robot.

Is an industrial robot with a mouse taped to it a cyborg?

Ah! But, the skin required the machinery to stay alive, so there was a connection, even if not totally functioning. So, I would say it counts.. [thumbup]

not by dictionary definition as I posted earlier:
cy·borg (sbôrg)n. A human who has certain physiological processes aided or controlled by mechanical or electronic devices.

a bionic human

There is also the problem with the later more advanced terminator where the "human suit" was simply "mimetic" camouflage. You could say that the earlier terminators skin was just a primative form of the same camouflage, and may even have been a synthetic analogue of human flesh rather than the real thing.

(Did it heal on it's own from bullet wounds? Was it capable of being infected, or susceptable to decomposition? Was it actually alive?)

I have heard though in salvation they tackle the terminators capturing humans and they are used to build the first prototype with living organic tissue so maybe the movie will answer some of these questions.

Now - sorry if i missed this, but I got to thinking.... which movie is this really a sequal to? Is this following T3, or is it leaving that joke out and jumping back on with 2?

as far as most fans see it T2 was the end of the real Terminator movies

but you also have to realize that the world of the Terminator is very dynamic in that anything can be changed threw events that have been altered in the past. thus bring forth the ability to have had several different versions of the future and all of them being relative to the present... not sure if that makes any sense.
