Default Question regarding "The Biggest Loser"
So my wife loves the show "The Biggest Loser". I'm not really a fan of the show but as some of you know, the one who loses the most weight wins. A couple of the finalists go home for a couple months or whatever to lose the most weight to win. The winner wins $250,000.

I wonder if there's anything in the show's rules that prevent them from cutting off body parts to lose the most weight? Cutting off a leg would give one of them a huge advantage!! I'm sure some people would cut off an arm or a leg for a quarter of a million bucks.

These people lose over a hundred pounds. If you cut off a 25lb leg you're never going to be able to exercise so you will certainly lose.

Mine is too. Just pointing out a weird loophole in the show that I don't think the producers have thought about. I looked at the show's rules and it doesn't mention disqualification by amputation. LOL!

I think a better question is how they control they don't cut weight by dehydration.

Many athletes cut about 30lb that way

however they do it, cutting as much weight as you possibly can in an attempt to make a lot of money sounds very unhealthy to me. Isn't the show supposed to promote being healthy?

i am pretty sure they are monitored, have trainers and doctors. There is nothing wrong with losing weight fast... people with thumb stomachs drop a ton of weight in mere months... which is what the show is based on, not who can lose the most weight in a week.

In my opinion the ability to walk, or even for that matter being completely able bodied is priceless, no amount of money would bribe me to unneedlessly amputate a limb, or remove my ability to see etc.

Clearly the best route is to get as fat as you can, and then sneak out for lipo without them knowing. Every time I see that show I realize that while I may be fat... I'm not THAT fat.
