I have seen loads on TV shows etc that shows people finding information about someone.

Like current address, job, mobile phone number etc

Is it really possible to find all that information about someone on the net? Or is that just fake TV info stuff.

For example I watched CSI and someone found a person that changed there name and moved to another state. They found all this information becuase QUOTE 'the internet is a powerful thing'

The simpliest way is to google their email address and sometimes a facebook/myspace account comes up.

You couldnt have seen my full facebook profile becuase i didnt approve you as a friend, but the snowboarding pic is my profile picture.

You know the really mad thing, I've been looking at Tim's photo's and I know a couple of the people in them!

You put your hotmail address in one of your old threads, I just typed it into facebook search, came up with 1 match, you can then see your friends list, find someone with the same surname who allows profile views then you're away!!

Not that I do this stuff often [thumbup]

No I don't know him, I couldn't view your profile but I could look who your friends were, found Tim had the same surname as you and I could view his profile, looked through some pics and you are on plenty, so pretty easy to get a picture of you.

When I was looking through some pics, I noticed one with Tim and Katie Bennett, I know her (not very well) from when she worked at the Lamb in Willaston (where I live) and recognised a few faces from the party he was at!

What the... Is it possible? Heck yes it's possible! Of course, the amount of information you find depends on how much there is to be found online. You're finding out quickly that an FM account and a Facebook profile have led to some basic information about you. I'm sure there are more activities you undertake online, and I'm sure they could be found.

If you'll search for people who go under my nickname online, you'll find more than just my FM posts.

It's up to you what kind of personal information you place online, but those warnings to keep certain things to yourself aren't just for kicks...

Ah very clever. So you can see friends of the random person but not the person themselves.

Found it here, just click on your FM profile and view all posts, only had to get to the 2nd page.

Surely the best way info on someone is to get into their Hotmail account etc. Is that possible?

It is called having a memory. You changed your username from TomEdwards a while back, and you have had arguments over a fruit bowl with TimEdwards at which point you revealed it was ok as you were brothers.
