Ok, so, I am wondering what this is.
Under acceleration, or load on the engine (up hills, or at high speeds) in the Ford Escort 2.0L, it seems like the engine is making a rapid clicking noise. It just started recently and am not sure what it is. Any clues as to what it could be? Also, my brother is having an issue with his S10. Basically, a couple of days ago, his car would idle around 2,000rpm and stay there. Then a few days later it would idle normal, but then go back and forth from idle to 1,200rpm. It only does this kind of stuff in neutral. It is fine in drive, but when he shifts the truck lunges, and he said that he can put the truck in third gear, take his foot of the gas, and the truck can drive itself. I told him to check his throttle body, as I think that it might be getting stuck, but anyone have any insight as to what else this could be? He has the 2.2L I4. |

I changed the oil exactly 3,000 miles ago. I use Castrol GTX with Fram filters. I checked the oil today, and it looks like it has another 2,000 miles or so left on it. Still pretty clean.
I only use the High Mileage or the Anti-Sludge from Castrol, always 10w-30. Been that way since 130,000 miles when we bought it. |
