Default F1 2008 - Japanese GP
So the practice session has just got under way. The track looks so different in the sunshine compared to the downpour last year!

What a joke those green tyres are. How many litres of fuel do those cars burn per lap? And they're trying to get us to feel guilty about putting the foot down. If that's not hypocrisy I don't know what is.

Yeah well there's a million people watching them do it, when you do it there's no-one there to see the incredible spectacle, so don't bother!

Anywhere to watch live online?

I'm using
http://www.itv-f1.com/VideoLive.aspx
But I don't know if that will work in Holland

Next they'll be getting Norbert Haug to tell us we should eat less and exercise more

Nope, UK only.

Guess I'll be playing another game then! Really don't feel like going to bed yet.

I didn't think F1 was broadcast in HD anywhere in the world.

i think bridgestone tried promoting 'going green', as in being eco. they got a few of the drivers in a press conference to say how much they cycle to work dont own any private jets at all.

Coverage starts at 4.30am here! Luckily there's a full repeat at 3pm.

If you look at the start both McLarens take exactly the same path and it is actually Kovalainen that forces Raikkonen off the track, not Hamilton. Kimi even said it was Kovalainen in the post race interview. So why was it Hamilton that was punished and nothing for Kovalainen? I wouldn't mind if they had both been punished, but to punish just one is wrong. No one has managed to answer that one yet. These are the same stewards that thought it was Bourdais fault Massa drove into him though.

Maybe because his engine blew and he was out of the race?

Actually, in an effort to try salvage the name of people who like Hamilton, I fully agree with his first corner punishment.

No it wasn't Hami that pushed Raik off, but it was Hami who forced Kovi almost off which in turn forced Raik.

Coming from an insurance background, the term I want to use here is : Proximate Cause.

I watched the start at least 20 times now, what I see is, that Räikkönen suddenly steers quickly to the right (where Hamilton is), in that exact moment, Hamilton starts to brake, but he presses the pedal a bit too much, so the inner tyre locks up, Räikkönen stays just aside him, then Hamilton's tyres get grip again and he can steer right into the corner - so could Räikkönen, BUT there's Kovalainen on the inside, too, so no chance for Räikkönen to steer into the corner, and then Kovalainen gets through the corner and finally Räikkönen can steer to the right - so, I think there's no one to blame for!! That was a start like thousands of other starts before in Formula 1!! There have always been drivers having problems with their brakes in the first corner, and I think if Räikkönen would not have been making that strange manoeuver and steering quickly to the right, Hamilton would not have been braking that hard and "sudden", and everyone would have made it "right" through the first corner - so I don't really see why Hamilton got a penalty for this!! The track can't be wide enough for all cars to pass all corners side-by-side!! And if Räikkönen wasn't smart enough to get to the inside of the corner, it's his thing!! And if there are other cars on the inside which are faster, he has to stay on the outside and see how he can make it!!

So, the penalty for Hamilton was WRONG!!
The penalty for Massa kicking of Hamilton deliberately was a GIFT for Massa!! That drive-through penalty together with the penalty for Hamilton is a big JOKE!!!!!
It's again the guys with the big money who want to make the championship exciting until the end!!!

Hamilton should have got penalties in few races before... He just dosn't give a **** about anyone else on the track and has pushed / hit others many times before too... Maybe that's why they finally gave him the penalty even if this time it was given pretty lightly...
