I am sure after the lawyers, he will easily be able to get himself a new 370z to replace his so so from the beginning 350z.
http://my350z.com/forum/lounge-off-t...0z-ruined.html What these guys did is just horrible! Some crazy people work up in that shop, that is for sure. ![]() Maybe they are just used to all the Honda guys that come through that shop. Heck, maybe it is Honda guys that are working there. [rofl] |

HA, that is pretty epic.
![]() I had a friend do that to his own ricerifc 240sx, it surprisingly turned out pretty decent. Don't have any pictures of the car but here is a youtube video of me and a couple of guys I work with finishing off his old tires. You can kind of see the body kit in some places. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkzYECO8cnI |

[surrender] i don't know what to say to that [surrender] hmmm that's funny $ 700 for that..... it costs over well 2 grand to have my m sport body kit sprayed, and fitted so that's front bumper, apron, diffusers, rear apron, defusers undercarriage air ducting ,electrics retrofitting of parking sensors ambient temp sensors, wings blended in yadda yadda. 100% professional fitment fully BMW guaranteed for 2 years against pealing or any defects as a result of the retro fit still way to cheap for a professional job,so I'm gonna have to say he deffo got for what he paid for.[rolleyes] he's paid the price fo his riiiiiiiice lol 400 quid for a full body kit, spray and fit. what planet is he on Riiiiiiiice nnnnnn peeeeeeeee! I know there are some good spray shops around that can do a good job cheaper than what I stated above but its not a lot cheaper and don't have a guarantee as extensive. |

I do hes a cheap ass who was looking for a cheap spray and fit job but failed epically He shouldn't have expected more for what he paid. It cost me over $1000 for fitment and painting of just my front bumper. Getting quoted $250 for the entire kit should have been his first clue to go somewhere else. |

After reading through it i have to agree with this post...
here are my thoughts.... Mistake #1 you bought a replica kit... and in urethane. How did you expect it to fit? It is clear from the pics that urethane kits are REALLY flexible and not easily painted. Mistake #2 So now you take this poorly fitting, hard to paint replica to a shop that apparently you did not research properly. You live in cali, there are decent shops everywhere that have good reputations. Why not go to a shop recommended to you, from people on the board even? Mistake #3 You get a quote of 250 bucks to fit and paint the kit? Right there would have been a HUGE red flag considering the material alone to paint and clear the pieces would have cost that much... and then he revises up to 730 bucks, which is still a shockingly low price... what kind of work did you expect? You get what you pay for Mistake #4 You actually paid for this? I don't care if it was pitch black and he offered to respray and refit the entire kit. Once you opened the doors you had to have seen the multitude of randomly installed screws along the door sill. having had a hint of any issues, the car should have been pulled into a lighted bay and inspected properly, had everything documented and within a day or so, taken to another shop to be even more thoroughly inspected. The work is horribly done, and even with the mistakes you made, it does not excuse what was done. With that said, it is buy beware, and you obviously lack due diligence in this situation. I really feel for you, but IMHO you have to thoroughly research, not only the shop you will use, but the items/parts you bring them. which IMHO, again, you did not. To go further, I am surprised this could be fixed for under 5 grand. You are looking at new bumper covers, refitting the doors, at least a full buff job, possibly a respray of the car depending on the magnitude of overspray... and then you want to refit that kit? Sorry, if you plan on doing that, you haven't learned a thing. Even a good shop will struggle fitting a crap kit. Even worse now that this shop butchered it up. My advise, is to scrap the kit, get the shop in question to pay the repair bill by a reputable shop (obviously legal action and some luck will be needed)... by repair I would consider getting you back to OEM status repaired. You eat the cost of that crappy replica and chalk it up to a lesson learned. |

OHP looks like you got it done at a BMW garage? They usually charge extortionate prices anyway. but I still have to buy the parts ect so it would have ended up about the same price all in. the kit alone is just shy of 900 quids inc fogs |

Regardless of price if someone makes a guarantee for work done (removable, quality work, etc) it doesn't matter if they do it for $1 or $15,000. You have every right to expect them to perform the work that was being paid for. I mean, I just had a kitchen fitted for 10k. I could have gotten one for 5k, - and it would still have been a kitchen, but the quality / finish would have been rather different ![]() |

True to a degree, but one has to ask what quality of work he expected to get for that price.... |
