Well if its not raining that hard having a fast wiper means theres no water to lubricate the blades and it squeeks/wears out the blades. Also its annoying lol.

I thought it would be pretty obvious but its an automatic wiper system that can work intermittently. it doesnt have to be contanstly running, for example when you switch it on it can wipe once and then 1/ 2 or 3 seconds later it starts it return stroke. basically all dependant on how bad the weather conditons are.

You wouldnt put your wipers on full whack in light drizzle, "back in the day" before the intermittent system was available they had no choice but to unneccessarily wear the blades
