I just recently had a website completed through a web developing company that I hired. As a website that handles money transaction s, the original agreement was that the website must have an integrated merchant account. However, a friend of mine - who's also a web developer, took a look at the content management and noticed that there was absolutely no payment gateway. Now in the contract that I have it specifically states that the website will have an integrated paypal account. But if you go through the check out process at my website, it takes you to an external paypal page where you complete the transaction. Can I sue the developers for this? How hard is it to create a payment gateway?

Last I checked, that's how paypal payment gateways worked... Collect the information on Website 'X', transfer to Paypal's secure account, and complete the process.
