Default Anyone pick up Batman: Gotham Knight?
I'm expecting a certain British Batman fanatic whose name starts with "s" and ends with "ionyboy" to post his thoughts here.

It's pretty well done. I found the story about the skater kids the least interesting, only because there was an episode of Batman: TAS that already did that sort of thing, and better in my opinion. I also didn't like the art style.

"Crossfire" was cool and very well drawn. I believe that the two cop characters introduced in that one, and seen in a couple of the others, are likely to be characters in the upcoming film. The Russian and Italian gang war came up a couple of times in this, which leads me to believe they'll be referenced in the Dark Knight as well.

"Working Through Pain" - I'm always interested in stories about his formative training years.

"Deadshot" was the most exciting of the bunch. Cool to see another from his comic book rogues gallery (and Suicide Squad fame) make an appearance.

I ignored and didn't read your whole post because I just got it from netflix today and am watching it tonight. I shall have a better opinion after I watch it.

From the previews i'm not liking some of the character design interpretations that i've seen, but i'll hold till I see them all. Infact, i'm anxious to get home and watch this, but I have about an hour here left at work.

I object to the term Batman fanatic. I'm a fan.... a fan who has an imported CGC sealed "The Killing Joke" hidden away in a drawer somewhere. [yes]

Plus I already posted my thoughts in the other Batman: Gotham Knight thread. The thread where ThePhunkyOne also called me out for my opinions (I should probably reference Batman less ).... Let me go find them.....

http://futuremark.yougamers.com/foru...ad.php?t=84615

Its pretty good stuff, good to hear Kevin Conroy as the Batman once more, and the stories covered a wide aspect of his character. My favourite was probably Deadshot as that was the most action packed story, although each one has its own unique charm. Anime isn't exactly my thing and there are a few times when I thought "why couldn't they have gone for a western approach" but for the most part it does work.
I'll agree with you Frekld, "Working Through Pain" was an interesting story, I always enjoy seeing the representations of his training years.

If I'm remembering correctly, 'Crossfire' also had a classic line within it;

"I'll kill her, I swear to God..... I'll do it, I'LL DO IT!!!"

"No.....You won't...."

Made in Awesome-Sauceland. [yes]

I hadn't remembered that you'd seen it as of that other thread. The ending to "Crossfire" was pretty intense. Him walking out of that fire was like, "Whoa...."

Dibrom, I'd suggest buying it only if you're really into the character, to the point of being a collector.

I bet you had, you just wanted to call me out as a Batman nerd!

The ending to Crossfire was really well animated, him just walking through the fire, then just standing in the fire...at one point I thought he was on fire.

Damn, I don't think I can wait until the 25th July...

I enjoyed all of them except the skateboard one. There was a similar BTAS episode where 3 kids talk about batman, and eventually meet him, I didn't enjoy that episode either.

However the rest of them, top notch. Good short stories, and I enjoyed them very much.

I must say though, I was so glad they went with Kevin Conroy for Bruce/Batman voice. He has become the iconic Batman voice for all animated versions of the character and its so hard to imagine Batman sounding any different.

I wish they could have gotten Morgan Freeman to voice Fox, or Efram to play Alfred.

BTW, does anyone else think Kevin C looks a little like the Hoff?

Me, I love that one. If for no other reason than we got to see an animated version of Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.

Same here, probably one of my favourite TAS episodes. I love the 1940s Batman story as well, "Good work old chum!".

Check out the cool stuff I got with my Gotham Knight DVD;

A Batman character guide and a Dark Knight USB pen with 14 hi-res promotional images. Its only a 128mb usb pen but....its a Batman USB pen baby! Wooh!

I couldn't care less if they sourced them from a Chinese sweat shop where the fire doors are painted on the walls, which in all fairness they quite possibly did. I got me a Batman USB pen. [yes]
