Default America keeps the hotdog eating crown!
Joey Chestnut has done it again! At the end of the match it was a dead tie between Chestnut and Kobayashi. Both ate 59 hot dogs in a 10 minute period. A new record!

Since it was a tie the two had to do a "dog off". Who ever could eat five hotdogs the fastest wins! Chestnut came out on top!

So once again the Americans triumph in the only "sport" that truly matters.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/07/04/hot...est/index.html

I was watching this on ESPNHD. It was a truly disgusting sight in high definition. barf...
Kinda reminds me of ESPN 8 "the ocho" on the movie dodgeball. lol

59 hotdogs[shocked]. They couldn't possibly be full length hotdogs as there is no possible way the human stomach can expand that much. I've seen enough medical shows and myth busters to know it myself. I can eat up to 5 or 6 full length hotdogs maybe one or two more depending on how hungry I am (which is still a few more than everyone else in the family) but to eat 59, and to eat one every 10 seconds. Do these guys even chew?

I guess you never watched this before. Yes they are real full length hot dogs! They are pro's that train to stretch their stomach's so they can take it that massive amount. I am pretty sure those guys have to purge all that later after the contest so they wont die.

Oh so its not eat to keep, its eat to win and throw up.

Man I'd rather eat to keep. If I knew I was gonna vomit than maybe I could stuff in an extra few hotdogs[thumbup]. But still, 59, that's quite a lot[shocked]

not only do they have to eat the hotdog but the bun as well

Joey eats two hotdogs at a time with about three bites, he takes them out of the buns first and while he is doing that he dips the bun in water so it just slides down his throat. They are standard size hotdogs and they have to keep them down .. last year he ate 66 but the contest was 12 minutes then .. it's now 10 minutes

If they are the same hotdogs they used last year, then yes they are smaller than the ones I've seen here in OZ.

Only seems right, as we are officially the No.1 fattest nation on earth now [thumbup]

why do I keep reading the title as

"America keeps the hotdog eating clown!"

anyway

I would join the contest purely for the free food and I'd probably eat 4 or five then drop out with meh belly filled

It's the dipping the bun in water part I find the most disturbing. Wet, soggy bread is one of the most uniquely disgusting things you can possibly eat.
