A UK isp with no traffic management. Wouldn't that be nice!
I'm gonna start one up!

No idea how mind you...

Id ring them up to sort it, when i was on 20mb i use to get around 2400k/s.
very few sites could give that speed even running running a couple transfers its why i was happy downgrading.

Try rebooting the modem to see if you pick up the new config file. I know when I paid to be upgraded to 10Mbp I had to bounce the modem.

I was 4mb before

Started on 512k years ago, went to 1mb free, then 4mb free now 10mb free

But line rental is still £25 a month and they do STUPID bandwidth throttling

I don't think the 2Mb customers get an upgrade unfortunately. Here's the upgrade schedule: http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html.../schedule.html

I hardly live in the middle of nowhere and I haven't received my upgrade yet. I'm not getting it until June according to their website.

Last time I checked a few weeks ago it said TBC for my area too, infact I don't think my area was on it, unless it falls under a massive one.

Just seems to have happened today

I wish they'd do something about the 2mb connection, there's going to be a massive gap between even the small to medium package.

My friend is on 20mb now.... git.

Bugger, wish the 2meg line atleast got upgraded to 4meg or 6 meg. The 10meg upgrade has been completed in Grantham.

Guys... seriously... get off the wagon. The wheels fell off months ago.

I'm on O2 ADSL2+ BB, £7.50 p/month, 8mb DL, unlimited bandwidth. It's fine for what most people need, stop paying ridiculous prices for a ridiculous service... [thumbdown]

"What do the updates to the traffic management policy mean?

To make sure all customers get the most from their connection, we automatically reduce the speed of the heaviest users at peak evening times – between 4pm and 9pm. In extreme cases, we’ll now also reduce the speed between 10am and 3pm – something that’ll have an impact on just 1% of our customers."

The only annoying thing with ADSL is you have to pay for the BT line rental. I don't want a landline, or a television package, I just want fast internet with no stupid 'traffic management' crap.
