The Stradics are very nice indeed! Expensive, but nice. [surrender] Of course, all of that stuff, except the 6' St. Croix Premier, were all bought when I worked at a small fishing & tackle shop. I got everything at dealer cost, except my latest Stradic and my G. Loomis rod. The newest Stradic I got for 50% off, right after Christmas when we were going out of business, and the G. Loomis I got one SWEET deal on! Our G. Loomis sales rep gave it to me for way below cost as a sort of sales staff perk. They do a thing each year where each member of the sales staff can get two rods at 60% off retail. I wanted a GL3 but they were all out, so he gave me the IMX for $10 more. [thumbup]
Sadly though, that shop is no longer around. The owner of the building sold it to some carpenter, who promptly evicted us. After 3 months of posturing and lying, the owners of the business decided to close up shop and just sell and service boats at their marina.
I'm definitely going to have to keep my eye out for sales on gear now. There's no way that I'm going to want to pay retail for stuff, now that I know what it all costs them.

Well, at the moment all my gear and tackle is put away for the winter but I do have a pic of my main piece of tackle...It was taken by a buddy of mine while we were fishing a club tournament.

It's a 18'6" 2002 ranger with a 150 merc. Not the biggest, but more than enough for now, although I do wish I would have ordered it with a larger engine, it's rated for a 175hp. Anyway, largemouth bass is really the only species that I go after, other than once a year me and a bunch of buddies go down to Truman lake in MO and catch a mess of crappies.

Great thread by the way!

Nice boat! I have an 11.5' fishing kayak that I bought last year. I haven't had the chance to use it too often due to work, school, and bad weather, but I'm hoping this year to get out at least a few times a month on it. The only bad part is that getting onto the top of my car is a pain in the ass. I put up with it, but it would be better if I had a rack system from Yakima or Thule instead of the foam blocks and tie down straps that came with the kayak. [rofl]
