There is a little known French animated film called Fantastic Planet that is also a classic in its own way. Like Blade runner, it created a unique universe. (many people say you should only watch it while high) [rofl]

Blade runner is classic Sci-Fi. They don't do it like that anymore, except.......

Contact. One of the few modern sci-fi films that did not insult my intelligence.

Frequency: Will probably join the classics list, one day

And Legend, of course. There may be better movies, but they will never again capture the feeling and mood that movie had. Its an artifact of its time.

Then of course, for a really stupid movie that impressed me a lot as a kid, there is Barbarella! (poor Jane Fonda!) [rofl]

Just recently watched Blade Runner in HD, I have seen it several times and love it like most everyone else, but man... the new HD release not only reassured that love, it took it to the next level.

Yeah, another Ridley Scott classic. Tim Curry as the Devil FTW! [thumbup]

All great movies listed here. I thought Sunshine would join the list, if it weren't for the really horrible bad guy in the film! It's like the best bad movie I've ever seen.
Alien

Sunshine

If we are including the obvious then it would be The Empire Strikes Back. If we are not counting the SW films, which seems to be the case then it would have to be Predator.

Though I must give an honoable mention to the two films I watched when I was a kid which made me the eternal geek I am. Those are The Black Hole and of course Tron.
