Agreed. But its obvious they are trying to grow beyond their niche, and in this case it seems to mean attempting to become more mainstream (which is, I suspect where Yougamers comes in) Plus the advertising, plus this game project......

The old supertechie Madonion does seem dead, and even people who have been here forever seem to have "hardened" with age. I am still hoping it will all turn out well.

Yeah merging FM with YG was a mistake IMO. Now the forums are dominated by stupid, dyslexic 12 year olds asking same stupid questions over and over again.

Hope Neeyik returns one day.

i don't think merging FM and YG wasn't THAT bad an idea. it is impressive enough for a company to even have a forum like this in the 1st place! while it true the forum has died alot in the past 3 years, i guess it's just showing it's age; you don't see as many post by season users as you would in the past.

My impression (which could be very wrong) was that hardcore PC overclocking was becoming to small a niche to cater to exclusively if the site wanted to grow. They needed new revenue streams, and I have watched (with a little trepidation) as the site slowly morphs more and more toward the direction of general gaming, even as members from the older days have taken the high ground in the forums and morphed from "bleeding edge explorers" to "defenders of orthodoxy".

Just my own idiosyncratic take on it all. (Its sure been interesting to watch, though!)

Neeyik was awesome. Maybe he quit because he didn't have the time to properly mod the forums. Its a lot of work. Probably moved on to something better and will just troll like the rest of us. I wouldn't want to be a mod around here... I'd rather just take it easy and not have to worry about any drama.

The funny thing is though, the "Admins" aren't supposed to moderate the forums - they are simply there to look after the forum software, do other tasks & also look after any disputes that users have with the Moderators.

The only people that should be sorting the forum out are the "Moderators"... Neeyik had no real reason to get involved with the 'Clean up' of the twaddle that is spouted here at times (Unless the Mod team are slacking of course )

I just hope he continues to post here, not only does he bring allot of knowledge and experience to the forum but he comes across a genuinely nice guy, would be greatly missed if he left.
