Yes shoes and the arch of your feet are important, but I'd also say that the more you run the more the muscle around your joints will build up helping to protect them.

try cycling if possible, far less stress on your joints.
problem is your body gets use to it and you find that if you start running again u will have worse problems.



I'd suggest warming up and stretching before hand.

Christ on a bike this is an old thread.


couldn't the admins put a piece of code into the forum to have a pop up say that a thread is over a certain date and have the option not to post it as a informational alert to users so old posts are unnecessarily resurrected ?

Erm... no workout now.

What I did to lose the weight though was 10 pushups a day, about 30 crunches a day, and as many situps as I could manage.

Also what I think really helped, is I just stopped eating so much junk food, went to 1% milk instead of 2%, started drinking more water, cut back on soda, etc.
