Default That was nice while it lasted...
Got myself completely out of debt last month, then I had to go out an buy a new car today. Cursed winter and cursed salt eating holes in my rocker panels. (fyi we have yearly motor vehicle safety inspections here (and cops can stop you whenever they want for roadside inspections), hole in car = fail - dealership didn't even want it as a trade in) The new one will be protected from corrosion. Worst part is I sunk $330 bucks into earlier in the month for a new oil pan. Guess getting my system setup for blu-ray's gonna take a little longer.

New vehicle is a 2008 Hyundai Accent GL Sport (3dr) in Tango Red. Got a free Samsung SC-MX10 camcorder with it [thumbup]

I'm quite glad i don't live out east and need yearly inspections. Nice purchase, been looking at the car myself.

Wasn't planning on buy a new vehicle until the fall, but I blew the engine in my Saturn last Tuesday, after which my mother lent me her Buick Regal. Friday driving into the city, the bolts holding the drivers side front ball joint sheared off, dropping the car to the ground at about 100kph. Luckily, the transport behind me was able to stop before hitting me. Needless to say, the Buick is toast, as when it dropped to transmission went for a crap, so both cars are off to the scrap yard next weekend.

So now I am on the hunt for a 2000 or newer vehicle, and sign my name on a nice payment.

thats why in a nutshell you should have a system in place that ensures your car is roadworthy every year

Don't you have yearly emissions test there? The safety inspection is a pain in the ass, and probably more of a tax grab than anything, but it keeps the dangerous rusty hulks off the road. They even take the wheels off now to do a complete brake inspection - even taking drum brakes apart, used to be that if they worked, they were OK.

Only in certain areas. For example, I live in Renfrew County, no emissions tests needed, but if I lived 5 minutes down the road, I would be in the "City Of Ottawa" region, so I would be required to have my vehicles tested.
