Not sure where this is supposed to go but I will try here in General Discussion:

I got a new Ipod Classic the other day. So I hook it up to my computer and Sync it with my Itunes. Well, I can see all the songs in the MUSIC folder of my Ipod while it is hooked up to the computer and it matches what my MUSIC folder has in Itunes. However, when I unhook my Ipod and search for certain music it doesn't show up. I look under artist and can't find Billy Idol. I look under albums and there is not Billy Idol Greatest Hits.

BUT, when I look up individual songs of Billy Idol - they are there. WTF! The song works find and under the song is Billy Idol/Greatest Hits. Weird.

The iPod uses the ID3 tags to sort music. So, if your songs don't have a field for ALBUM embedded, you won't see them show up when you sort by album. And if you have something weird in the ARTIST tag, it won't show up where you expect it to.

Look at your tags and see what's there.
