Default Quick home server question...
Hello all. Its been a while since ive been on here...

My question, Im either gonna get a network storage device (NAT) or a file server, I haven't decided on which, however. Since I have two people that are going to use it, is there a way that I can make certain files available to each person, then having a shared section.

Example: My files only visable to myself. My dads files only visable to him. And then a shared area, for stuff like movies.

Thanks [thumbup]

Dead simple with permisions, read, write, modify. However this would largely depend on the operating system. Pretty much all OS will cater for this (server). With a NAT depending on how much you pay and what file system in uses.

You could simply share 3 different folders. 1 for you, 1 for your dad and one you both have access to.

Then Map on both computers the personal folders say to Z:\ - then the shared folder to Y:\ . So it;s the same for both users, but you can only see your share on z:\ and the public on y:\.
