Default First Kendo lesson today
And I have a couple of wicked blisters for my trouble

Have to say, it was very enoyable though - despite being hard work, and its amazing how much there is to learn and remember. If I concentrated too much on my foot placement, then my hands and sword angle were wrong, and vice versa.....

I do wing chun, i was interested in kendo, but i prefer the self defense side of wing chun now.

Yeah learning a martial art can VERY frustrating, i think in wat i do the trick is not to concentrate on anything, just feel and listen....

Yeh I used to do Wing Chun - was well good, especially for me being so short.
Kendo is the big wooden sword fighting isn't it? Yeah I can imagine you getting worse blisters than I did conditioning in Wing Chun

I did Jeet Kune Do and from doing the Wing Chun drills in it, the worst thing is the forearm's get hit a lot. I do Muay Thai now and you don't realise about conditioning until you've done shin to shin stuff and doing thigh conditioning

hehe yep, forearm conditioning is what we mostly did in Wing Chun when I was there. The would be a line of bruises and blisters down in the inside of my forearm!

Yes, Kendo is fighting with bamboo swords. I will be about 3 months before I get my armour - I have to work out everything else first. A mate of mine has been doing it for about 4 months, and got his armour a month ago.
