Seriously...wtf is up with everyone and their luck after being so increadibly stupid!? I had a friend who was driving over 300 miles from Austin, she was drinking the entire time. Got pulled over about 30 min from her destination, had no insurance and was trashed. NOTHING happened. Not even a citation. I do 61 in a 55 and I'm treated like a murderer....

What I find intriguing is that the expression "hauling ass" means "going very bloody fast".
The image in my head is of the reverse.

You're not a total dumbass... you are just stupid at this point.

Don't learn your lesson, and do it again: that makes you a dumbass for the rest of your life... so my advice: get a copy of your fines, sticky them into the dashboard on your car so that you have to look at them whenever you hop in, becuase a lot of people who committ such offenses have a very short memory.

Got a ticket two days ago for going 44 in a 30. I was kinda sick that day and late for work.

Tonight, I went out to a bar and then an after-party. I left the party, hauling ass down the freeway late at night with no other traffic, pass a cop, try to run, blazed through a red light, hit a curb, blew out my front driver side tire, then got pulled over.

The cop asked if I had been drinking and I said no. He gave me a ticket for going 115mph (which he said was the low end, because I was exiting the freeway and he clocked me at 125 first) and one for running the red light.

He asked if I was trying to run from him (which I was) and if I hit anything. I said, no and no. He again asked if I had been drinking and I said no.

So now, I'm blessed, home safe and sound with three tickets sitting in my passenger side seat.

Oh man... income tax return can't come fast enough. I think i'm close to $1,000.00 in dumbass fines.

I shouldn't have gone to that after party... or I shouldn't have been hauling ass... or I shouldn't have gone out at all tonight... or.... well, there are lots of things I shouldn't have been doing.

I hope i've learned a lesson tonight. Fortunately, he took my word when I said I had not been drinking..

I'm a dumbass.... and officially broke.

I'll be waking up to get my tire repaired tomorrow and next week, I have 3 tickets to deal with.

You guys are lucky... I was almost in jail tonight and you wouldn't have been able to read my dumbass post.

Well U did kinda luck out by not getting a DWI, those are no joke these days.

What do U drive? kinda haulin' ass doin' 125 down the highway...Don't be too hard on urself everyone makes mistakes, the dumbass is the one who doesn't learn from them and keeps making the same bad decisions again and again.

Thanks for the kind words. I don't think it will really start to hit me until I have to bust out with a thousand bucks. Hopefully, it's not any more than that.

Have to agree there. Speed is one thing (we all have a bit of a lead foot sometimes), but DUI/DWI is not cool [thumbdown] Please don't do it again.

Having read your initial post - yes, you are.

Doing that speed, and thinking you could outrun the cops was pretty darn stupid. I assume it was the booze that affected your thinking.

Glad to hear you are OK - but this should be a learning experience for next time... i.e - dont!
