Maths Help
Find the set of values of x satisfying the inequality | 3^x - 8 | < 0.5 , giving 3 significant figures in your answer.
= 8 - 0.5 < 3^x < 8 + 0.5
= 7.5 < 3^x < 8.5
= lg 7.5 < x lg 3 < lg 8.5
= 0.875 - lg 3 < x < 0.929 + lg 3
= 0.398 < x < 1.406
Did I do this right or wrong?
