Default Zoom zoom.
After riding out my lousy 3-year contract and being saddled with 1.2 Mbit ADSL, I've finally stepped up to a lovely new 10 Mbit cable line. What a difference! Just had to share.

Congrats!

Now if you can actually max out that 10Mb on a consistent basis, I'll be impressed. [thumbup]

The compare link doesn't want to work for me, so here are some quick snapshots. I'm getting pretty steady 9.8 Mbit test results across different servers.

Telus might kill my webspace soon, so these could be dead links later today.

Wasn't a linky lol just bold letters sorry

Looks like you're getting as advertized! I find speedtest not as relaiable as some ftp servers I know here in the Netherlands like some Universities ect which always max me out even when speedtest is reporting lower numbers.

not sure about consistency..but the latest torrent releases I always get 1 MB/s downstream. although some peak hours, my ping goes as high as 1000ms. but overall I love Cable Internet

fail! I thought this was going to be about a new "car" purchase... something like "I just got a new MS3 or Miata or RX-8!" :P
but yea that speed is pretty nice. I wish my home connection was as fast as my work

I get very good speeds with my Virgin Media 10meg.

edit:- I'd just like to add that I've just done these tests at 6.10pm which is considered peak time over here in the UK and I'm still getting max speed, a lot of users suffer terrible problems with cable in the UK but I dont seem to be affected.

Can't say as if I trust SpeedTest.net.

It says I max out at 8Mb/s; Speakeasy says I max out at 31Mb/s.

I know for a fact, I pull 3MB/s from a server that can supply the pipe. Hrm. . . [thumbdown]

Correction. . .I just noticed the server about 20 miles away, and that says 23Mb/s. . .hrm. . .closer, I suppose. :-P
