Default Autopsy: Emergency Room
For those that enjoyed the previous two Gunther von Hagens series, "Anatomy for Beginners" and "Autopsy: Life and Death", there's a new series, "Autopsy: Emergency Room", starting on Tuesday at 11:05pm on Channel 4.

First, he dissected human bodies to show how they work; then he did it to show how humans die. Now, Dr Gunther von Hagens, together with the British Red Cross, demonstrates how to save lives.

In this new three-part series von Hagens explores the impact that accidents and assaults have on the human body, while also demonstrating what first-aiders, paramedics and physicians can do to try to preserve life. In each film, von Hagens is joined by Dr John Heyworth, A&E consultant at Southampton University Hospitals Trust who supplements the anatomy on display with illuminating commentary, based on his first-hand experience of a busy emergency department. Emma Rand, from the British Red Cross, demonstrates the simple first aid techniques that could mean the difference between life and death.

In the opening film, Gunther and his team will discuss and demonstrate the problems affecting the number one priority for doctors in an emergency room – the airway. http://www.channel4.com/science/micr.../A/autopsy_er/

I found the previous series fascinating, so I'll be tuning in. [yes]

Autopsy, seeing what people where made of was extremely interesting, even if it was spun with a shock value. This just sounds like pure gore, bring it on! [thumbup]

Don't really understand what that was trying to achieve?

Seemed to be going through demos with cadavers just for the sake of it. Much of that could have been achieved better with plastic models, but that wouldnt have been as cool?

Anyone else notice Emma Rand kept looking at Dennis' peepee/butt while demonstrating abdo thrusts?
