I still need to finish it off a bit then I will cover it in closed cell foam approx 3 mm thick, then I'll cover it

in Black vinal or a carpet to match the boot.

Dude, how do you intend to put beer inside your trunk with this thing blocking all the space?
Nice work, hope it sounds well

I made an enclosure for my e46 bmw.

I took a non conventional route for the covering I used grey leather so It matched my seats and interior and I finished it off with a BMW roundel.

sounded good and it sold on ebay for quid only cost me 20 quid to make

Nice. I have a really nice 3.5 cube box I used for my immortal back when I had a hatchback. Wouldn't fit in my sunfire so I switched over to a pair of 12's in a 2 cube sealed box. I'm planning on taking my nice vented box and using it for home theater. I found the perfect little sub for it. Just gotta get a plate amp.

Thats sweet! I am still working on some designs for a system in my 240z.

Though I think that you need a second one.

I'm guessing that you measured it up to fit properly. I just bought a pre-made kenwood box with 2 12" subs fits perfectly in the back of my '94 wrx in between the wheel guards, couldn't have built a more perfect box myself. What have you got to power it?

alexdiablo: You and your white text lol, I don't put beer in it .

OHP: I've changed my mind about covering it in vinal, I'm going to use dark grey
carpet instead. I'll take more of a bash than vinal for when I chuck stuff back there.
Corners are a bitch lol.

RainWind: I too made a box and used it as a home sub, I hooked it up to a spare amp and 12v battery lol. Worked well....

mgboy: 2.705 ft I didn't tkink that was a small box... I aimed for a low 25.3 Hz
I'm half mucking around to see what works , I don't mind if it doesn't work because
its easy to make another one and i would have learned something.

red_dog007: I have 3 of them, but 2 of them overpowers the splits so I only use 1.
One of them by itsself in a different box that I just chucked together and did not
work out the box volume/port dia/ length etc got 139.4dB For me thats plenty for normal use. This one should sound better and may be louder as the details have been
worked out.

scoobs: yea, the angle matches the back of the seat and the cutout on the top
is for the parcel shelf. I've always liked custom boxes coz you can make them just how you like em. I'ts lucky that you found a pre fab one that fit well!

The sub amp is n Alpine MDR M500 and an Alpine MDR-T 420 for the splits (DDdrive)
The Headunit is an Eclipse CD8061 and a Fusion 1.5 farad cap

I'm happy with how its gone so far!!!

Hehe. Currently I have a really older kicker sitting in the box, hooked up to the world's crappiest 2 channel car amp, powered by an ATX power supply.

http://www.edesignaudio.com/

I'm gonna pick up a 300 watt plate amp and an EHQS12. I figure it'll cost me about $150 for the sub and amp. That should give me some good bass. Rawr.

Eclipse CD5000 HU, Nine.1 Amp, and 2 13Ov.2s. I've taken a liking to Elemental Design's products. The amp is pure sexiness. I wish these subs were a little louder on the lows. However, they play excellent on any type of music so I guess its a fair trade off. I can't stand subs that are awesome on rap but totally suck when it comes to rock. It just bugs me to trade off versatility just for monster lows.

I should get mine metered. Its nothing too impressive... but it gets the job done. I've been sorely tempted to try some Type-Rs. I've had the chance to hear them a number of times and while I might be a slight bit less responsive/accurate than my subs.. they're definitely a bit louder. Sometimes on my way home from work that's all that matters.
