Default Whats the oldest tech gadget you own?
Pretty sure most of you hoard some old gadgets, of course some of us are older than others Just wondering whats the oldest tech gadget you own? It must be something that you purchased when the gadget was in its prime. [thumbup] For me I still have a Commodore Amiga 600 stuffed away.

Hmmm, "tech gadget" implies that it would have to be electronic I guess - I have some transistor radios from the 60s around somewhere, but I know that I definitely have an original 16KiB ZX Spectrum from 1982 (my previous ZX81 caught fire and died a horrible death in the back garden) and an original IBM PC from the same year, but in worse condition - both still operate, although the latter's OS discs are knackered.

Probably a ZX81 I've still got hanging around.

Edit: Oh yeah and there's an old transistor radio from the '60s or '70s hanging around somewhere too.

Yep - I really liked the keyboard; having previous grown up with the ZX80 and 81's touchpad keyboard, using physical keys was a revelation! When my rich friends with C64s waved their "proper" keyboards at me though, I couldn't stand the noise they made; how I cursed Sinclair when they dumped my beloved squidge buttons.

My brother had a 48K ZX Spectrum. I wanted my own computer too so I saved up and bought the ZX81.

I have a Quikjoy joystick for an Amiga A500 along with a Zipstick and many games including Turrican II, Shadow Of The Beast & Apidya.

I have an 80's calculator ... erm basically most of my stuff is from the 80's lol, I wasn't alive in the 70's so dont have anything from that era.

LOL, too funny

My oldest personal item is my Sears brand telegames, I think it came out in 1975 or so, it's a pong style machine.

Short-wave radio cabinet from the 40s. Still works well. Can tune in to Tokyo, Berlin, New York etc. Grand-dad used to listen to hockey games on it.

"portable" TV from the 60's I completely rebuilt it a few years ago. It used a grand total of 2 diodes - both about the size of a sugar cube, every thing else was tubes.
