Yes, didn't Golem once smash his buddies face in because he came home and saw the guy over visiting his girlfriend? I would leave that out of the police report.

While I don't agree with kicking a man while he's down, if he was drunk in public and threatening you I could see punching him first. If you got him thrown out and his drunk ass waited around for you chances are he's going to assault you. Not sure how the law works over there, but a judge might throw it out based on the fact that a drunkard was thrown out of a bar and waited around for one of the employees to get off to pick a fight.

In our country he can be real lucky that the guy has a record already and is not filing for anything yet.

But also in our country he will get in lots of trouble because the guy is from turkey....

better hope he doesn't remember a lot from this evening.

The main issue isn't that you hit him first but the numbers of times you hit him and that someone else had to break it up, that is what is going to make you the attacker and not the victim, no matter what the guy did previously that night.
