Hi guys,
as you are aware, conflicts between Sky and Virgin recently have meant that Virgin Freeview users have lost Sky One, Sky News, and a few other channels. The Sci-Fi channel went down yesterday and is now scrambled. ie I get sound, but the picture is deliberately distorted as though it has now become a subscription channel. Just wondering if you guys are experiencing this as well. I also wanted to know if any other channels are going to be taken away in the near future? If so, I may go for a Sky subscription. |

Embarassingly I don't know exactly which TV service I am using.
I work in a hospital as a Doctor. I am currently renting a house provided/owned by the hospital. Essentially i have just hooked up my TV to the TV point in my room and I am getting the following channels: BBC1 BBC2 ITV Channel4 Channel5 Hallmark E4 Movies24 Sci-Fi (Now Scrambled) BBC News 24 Sky Sports 3 Price Drop TV QVC I did used to get Sky One, Sky Movies, Sky News before the Sky vs Virgin debacle. I am getting this all for FREE. I don't think the hospital is paying a subscription/package as they are not aware of anything. I think it is a cable package that is Free. I am assuming that I am watching/getting some Virgin Cable Free/No subscription package, as some of the channels that have been discontinued such as the Sky Movies channel show this: ![]() |

If you are on the most basic Virgin package, you should be getting the following:
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...els_sizem.html I see no mention of Sports, Movies or Sci-Fi. When you say you get all those channels, are they digital channels or analogue ones? Because if you are using analogue cable, that might explain your weird channel line-up. |
