So you never make a statement in the knowledge that you might just be wrong, or that there might not even be a right and wrong? You can't see the difference between, say. "F1 racing is boring" and "IMO F1 racing is boring" ? Because one of them is a fair statement, the other one is utter bollocks. When someone makes a statement it's clear that it's his opinion, he doesn't need to put a stupid disclaimer. The one with "IMO" does not have any effect on any conversation while when one says "F1 is bollocks", he might say why, be asked why or someone may come up with a more reasonable statement. In any case neither of that is opinion, one is not automatically entitled to opinion. Opinion is only equivocal when it is supported by argument or reason. |

When someone makes a statement it's clear that it's his opinion, he doesn't need to put a stupid disclaimer... ...Opinion is only equivocal when it is supported by argument or reason. It has high ratings (computer gaming world's 100%) and was developed by talented people with good track records (carmack) and high sales. However- Deus Ex is crap in comparison with it's 70% (cgw). It has a borrowed and slow preforming engine, and lower opening day sales. My argument backed with reason and facts(!) doesn't make it any less of an opinion. Nor does that statement 'Dual Core possessors are teh future!' without any explanation make it less of a fact. |
