It is a completely new movie, no remake here. Joker turns up in Gotham to wreak havoc, whilst Batman enlists the help of the new Gotham District Attorney Harvey Dent, who will eventually become Two Face. It is rumoured that Scarecrow will be back, Eric Roberts will be playing mob boss Sal Maroni and Katie Holmes will not be back. Huzzah.

If you want to get an idea of what the film will be like, check out the comic "The Long Halloween" by Jeph Loeb. It is a continuation of events from Batman:Year One by Frank Miller, which was the basis for Batman Begins.

Apparently this is the official synopsis for The Dark Knight

"In The Dark Knight, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker."

EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!!!

Whomever that actor is, i can totally see him looking the part of Two-Face. Now I hope Christopher Nolan doesn't off The Joker in this movie.

The actor is Aaron Eckhart, and I love the "I believe.." part of that poster. That is the opening line from "The Long Halloween" by Jeph Loeb, which is supposedly going to be a massive influence on the film.

I don't think he will off The Joker, he seems to have a respect for the source material so I can't see him doing a Burton and having Batman kill everyone in sight. If he stays alive then I'm hoping that Arkham Asylum will come into play in the third film.

Er no. The Joker wasn't in Batman Forever, it was the Riddler and he was played by Jim Carrey.

Ch-ch-check it out people.

This website appeared a few days ago www.ibelieveinharveydent.com

Yesterday this website appeared on the interwbebs, www.ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com, essentially the same site although somebody has drawn a large smile and two black eyes over Mr Dent's face.

If you put in your email adress and the code you then get sent an email from tragicpast@ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com stating that

I always say, you never know what a man is truly made of until you peel the skin off his face one piece at a time. Here is your chance to help:

You also get given two co-ordinates to put in, which then removes one pixel from the image to reveal something underneath....which would give you something like this

The Joker! Ladies and gentlemen here is Heath Ledger as he will appear in The Dark Knight. Its rumoured he'll start the film as a whack job in gotham, but something happens, either in an encounter with Batman or with the mob bosses in the city, which leaves him with a nice chelsea smile.

I wonder if the two scars he has on his face will make an existing smile of his even wider? Would be awesome!

I've replaced three pixels thus far. What have you done?

I'm thinking that The Joker will end up getting Chelsea Smiled from one of Sal Maroni's henchmen. In The Long Halloween the old mob bosses start to get pissed off with all the cosutmed freaks moving in on their turf so try to get rid of them. I'm thinking that Maroni will get some ironic payback on the Joker by making his smile a very wide one, perhaps tossing his body into a chemical vat afterwards, which leads to Joker becoming the psychotic nutcase everyone loves. I'm pretty sure he starts the film off without the scarring, he just happens to use the Joker gimmick (ie, mask, calling card etc) when he's out and about robbing.

And I've replaced 2...yes TWO pixels...perhaps I should do more.

For people with Gmail accounts, apparently if your address is JoeBloggs@Gmail.com then you can enter JoeBloggs+1@Gmail.com or JoeBloggs+2@Gmail.com then you can send yourselves multiple codes to remove pixels with. Some guy has apparently done 115 pixels so far
