Default How many peanuts does it take to save a TV show? About 8 million
Apparently 8 million peanuts are all it takes for seven new episodes of a TV show to be ordered with the option based on ratings to order more! Jericho has been saved (probably hugely due to the nuts for Jericho campaign which shipped over 40,000 pounds of nuts to CBS HQ’s in LA and NY at a cost of $54,820 USD!)

VM has a copy cat campaign running which involves individuals sending Mars bars wrappers to The CW, this will probably fail (sadly), however, I would have loved to see the group instead take donates and mass order and ship the full Mars bars to The CW to make a stand for the show. Something tells me seeing 10,000 candy bars show up each day for a week straight or something has far more impact then a bunch of wrappers slowly trickling in.

The Nuts campaign was smart and really direct to the point. CBS had to do something with 10,000 lbs that showed up in just one day, that’s enough to get the president to poke around and see just how much crap is showing up each day in regards to the show. Seven episodes might not save Jericho, but I would like to think the writers will at least now have the foresight to plan and ending in the last two or three episodes if they notice ratings are not increasing on the first few episodes!

I’m not a Jericho fan, but I’m happy for you fans, enjoy while it lasts!

I wish this news was about VM though

I read an article on this, and it's retarded.

When a series' cancellation is announced to the public, it's usually weeks, or even months after the deal has been closed.

Dude Shut up !
Believe me, when Acarney get´s started about VM (Veronica Mars) you´re gonna wish somebody would stick a knife in your liver, turn it around and pour lighter fluid in the wound so the pain would be so unbelievable,..
well you get the picture,.
just don´t ask.

can someone explain to me in laymen terms what this means?

A show was getting cancelled so they sent a truck full of nuts to the producers and that somehow saved it?

There was a saying about "nuts" in the season finale just before they went to war with the neighboring town.

Which in the series referes to a allied commander saying "nuts" (go **** yourself) to the Germans when they demand him to surrender.

Western drama starring Ian (Lovejoy) McShane with LOTS of swearing. I've heard it was good.

I know its not exactly correct, but when my friends and I started watching Jericho we couldn't remember his name, so we all called him Captain Black. [rofl] The name has stuck and I have to actually try to not call him that.
